Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons and daughters of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission.
In order to receive the Sacrament at Holy Ghost, parents and godparents must attend our baptism preparation class. The schedule as well as the baptism and godparent forms are below.
UPDATE: At this time, due to COVID-19, we are currently working on rescheduling baptisms previously scheduled for April and May. Under the Phase I directives by Bishop Duca, all baptisms are done PRIVATELY with up to 10 people in attendance including the priest.
We will keep the Baptism Seminars on track by connecting through the ZOOM app. Click here to access the Baptism Seminar on June 3rd at 6pm. If not automatically directed to the seminar, copy and paste this in your browser: https://zoom.us/j/3183262730.
Please note: if the parents and godparents have attended a seminar within the last 5 years, you do not need to attend another seminar; however, if this is your first child to be baptized and/or first time to be a godparent, a seminar must be attended.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation!
First Communion is a major rite of passage in the Catholic Church. As one of the seven Sacraments, First Communion typically falls around the age of 7, when a child is deemed capable of reason and therefore able to appreciate and understand the miracle of the Eucharist.
As part of the Sacramental Preparation, Holy Ghost Catholic Church has a preparation program for both the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Sacrament of the Eucharist.
Reconciliation is available on Saturdays from 3pm to 3:45pm in the church.
The Sacrament of Confirmation is one of the sacraments of Christian initiation. Through the Sacrament of Confirmation, the baptized are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit to be true witnesses of Christ, and more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed. Click here for more information regarding Confirmation Preparation which can be found under our Youth Ministry page.
